Video transcript

On March 9, 2010, Minister of Community and Social Services, Madeleine Meilleur, and Linda Jeffery, MPP for Brampton-Springdale, officially opened a new Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) office in Brampton.

This is the first ODSP office in the City of Brampton. It serves approximately 6,000 clients in the communities of Brampton, Caledon and Bolton. Brampton was designated under the French Language Services Act in January 2007 and this office will provide French language services for clients and families.

The site, proudly described as a "model office", has many accessible features including:

  • storefront design
  • low reception counter
  • way-finding carpeting designed to assist people with visual disabilities, and
  • desk-side interviewing.

The building, situated along a main public transit route in downtown Brampton also boasts ample free parking.

ODSP staff at the new office look forward to welcoming members of their community.
