Health Advocacy Developers (Patient Advocates)

The Ontario Aboriginal Health Advocacy Initiative is a project of the Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Strategy. The goal of the initiative is to address why Aboriginal, First Nation and Métis people across Ontario do not have equal access to quality, culturally appropriate health services.

The main role of the Health Advocacy Developers is to:

  • raise awareness of Aboriginal health issues
  • train service providers and front line workers on health issues.
