If you need modifications to your home because of your disability, you may be able to get help from the Home and Vehicle Modification Program. This program is administered by the Ontario March of Dimes. You don't need to be receiving Ontario Disability Support Program Income Support to get help from the Home and Vehicle Modification Program.
How do I get this benefit?
The Home Repairs benefit is only available if you cannot get help from any other program or source.
If there is no other source of funding available, you still need approval from your local Ontario Disability Support Program office before you proceed with the home repair. If you did not have time to get prior approval, you may be reimbursed for the home repair if you can prove that the repair was an emergency or unavoidable.
Your Ontario Disability Support Program worker can tell you what information you will need to provide to apply for the benefit. After we have reviewed your information, we will send you a letter to tell you if you have been approved.
