Lunch Date: Minister of Community and Social Services Madeleine Meilleur catches up with Andrew Gordon during Community Living Toronto’s Appetite For Awareness event. |
On May 6, 2008 members and volunteers from Community Living Toronto delivered boxed lunches to a number of government representatives, community leaders and media personalities, including Minister of Community and Social Services Madeleine Meilleur.
The special delivery was in honour of Community Living Toronto’s sixth annual Appetite for Awareness event that celebrates people with a developmental disability and the contributions they make to the community.
“This event is a great example of how with the right supports, people with a developmental disability can connect with many parts of their community,” said Minister Meilleur.
May is a busy month for Community Living Toronto as the organization celebrates the provincewide Community Living Month. The association participates in many events in May, including Community Living Day With The Blue Jays and Community Living Day At The Legislature.
