There are an estimated 73,000 adults diagnosed with a developmental disability living in Ontario. Most are living a safe and happy life. However, some aren't.

What's ReportON?

ReportON is a telephone line and email address to report actual or suspected abuse or neglect of adults with a developmental disability

What's a developmental disability?

A developmental disability:

  • is present at birth or develops before 18 years of age
  • affects a person's ability to learn
  • is permanent
  • can be mild or severe

People with developmental disabilities often require help with daily life as well as other assistance to be as independent and successful as possible.

How do I know when to contact ReportON?

The abuse or neglect might be at the hands of the person's family, friends, care giver or a stranger.

Even if you're not absolutely certain you're witnessing abuse or neglect we would encourage you to call. There will be no consequences for you and you might make a significant difference in someone's life.

If there's an immediate threat, call 911.

If you are, or you see or suspect an adult with a developmental disability being abused or neglected, here's what you can/should do:
