Through the person-directed planning process, Mark was able to fulfill his dream of living independently.
People can use a portion of their Passport funding for person-directed planning. It helps people with a developmental disability prepare life plans that lay out their distinct needs and goals. These plans can help them make the most out of funding and outline ways they can participate in community activities.
The planning process helps others understand the individual’s needs. It also helps the person achieve their goals.
People with a developmental disability can create their own plans or work with family, friends and others.
For more information, see our guide to person-directed planning. We have also created a plain language version of the guide.
