The Ministry of the Attorney General is seeking applications from qualified lawyers to join the provincewide panel of lawyers providing legal services on behalf of the Director of the Family Responsibility Office (FRO).

Each year, FRO counsel and the panel of lawyers make more than 8,600 appearances in courts across the province under the Family Responsibility and Support Arrears Enforcement Act, 1996.

The retainers of all current FRO panel lawyers will expire on June 30, 2020.

The new panel will be in effect from July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2024.

How to join the new panel

All lawyers who wish to become a member of the new FRO panel, including current panel members, must complete an application. A resume is not required with your application. You may be asked for an in-person or telephone interview.

Successful candidates must demonstrate skills and experience in family law and litigation and participate in mandatory educational seminars and training.

Step 2 - Submit your application

Deadline: We must receive your application by April 17, 2020.
